We’re proud to serve the Fort Smith community with a $10 million Heart & Vascular Center.
Heart issues aren’t something you plan for, but you want a team who does. Our expanded team of cardiac experts includes local cardiologists, as well as cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons – each one working to bring you complete care – including the prevention, detection and treatment of heart and vascular diseases. Cardiovascular and interventional cardiology physicians help patients manage a variety of conditions including abnormal heart rhythms, congestive heart failure, coronary artery and valve disease, heart attack, heart failure, high blood pressure, heart murmurs and peripheral artery disease. They perform life-saving procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and stent placements.
Cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons treat disorders of the heart, lungs, esophagus and aorta in the chest. Our surgeons are trained in nationally recognized programs. They use minimally invasive procedures to shorten your hospital stay and recovery time.
Mercy Clinic primary care physicians know the risk factors for heart disease. They recommend age-appropriate tests, changes to your diet, exercise and medications as a part of ongoing prevention. Mercy also provides heart-healthy events throughout the year, where education and free (or low-cost) screenings are available.
Our comprehensive program helps you optimize your health and improve your quality of life after a heart attack, stent, bypass surgery or other procedure.
Dedicated Heart and Vascular Center
We use a variety of testing, monitoring and advanced imaging studies to diagnose and treat cardiovascular issues.
There are many different kinds of heart conditions. Some happen quickly and demand immediate attention. Others require ongoing care over a long period of time. Inside our new Heart & Vascular Center, we’ve upgraded and expanded our specialized care to treat all types of heart conditions right here in your community. It’s the same high-level care you’d find in a larger city – without the drive to get there.
We can now perform more procedures locally, including:
