With aging comes many joys, including more time spent with family or pursuing hobbies. But our golden years can also come with difficult life events and transitions, including the loss of loved ones and age-related health concerns.

Mercy Hospital Kingfisher's Senior Life Solutions program is an intensive outpatient group therapy program. This program is designed to meet the unique needs of individuals — typically 65 and older — experiencing depression or anxiety related to life changes.

Feeling down now and again is a normal part of life. But if these feelings last for more than a couple weeks, you may be dealing with something more serious.

Consider this program if you or someone you know has experienced any of the following:

  • A traumatic event
  • Anxiety
  • Changes in appetite
  • Depression
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Feelings of sadness or grief lasting more than two weeks
  • Feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness
  • Loss of a close family member or spouse
  • Loss of energy
  • Loss of interest in favorite activities

Services offered by Mercy Hospital Kingfisher's Senior Life Solutions include:

  • A confidential, comprehensive assessment
  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Medication education and management
  • After-care planning

While most services are offered in a group setting, each person will also receive individual counseling. We will engage and support participants in the program to make sure their own unique needs are being met.

Our program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed therapists, a registered nurse and other health care professionals dedicated to the mental health care of older adults in our community.

Anyone can make a referral to the program, including:
