While every parent-to-be wishes for a happy, uneventful birth, it’s good to know that Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City is ready for the unexpected. Mercy’s Level III NICU offers advanced care for premature or critically ill babies and their families, with 15 private and 13 semiprivate rooms. NICU infants are monitored around the clock by experienced neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and staff nurses.
We care for parents, too. NICU parents receive lactation support by trained NICU nurses for as long as baby remains in the NICU. We even offer an online NICU parent support group. Kangaroo care is so important to young premature infants, and we encourage parents to visit as much as possible to share their loving touches.
