Government Relations - Kansas
Scott Schneider has over twenty years of governmental relations experience in Kansas. He began his career on former Governor Bill Graves’ statehouse staff, moving on to work on the campaign team where he managed the grassroots operation for the statewide effort. He has worked with some of the largest enterprises in Kansas advocating their interests to the state legislative and executive branches of government. With a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a duty of loyalty to his clients, Scott has built long-standing relationships with policy-makers, businesses and leaders in the economic development arena.
Scott is a licensed attorney obtaining his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 2003. He formerly held an internal position as Director of Government Affairs at Cox Communications. While at Cox, he worked at the Kansas Statehouse, directed cable franchise negotiations, and supported utility rights-of-way and pole attachment contracts across a two-state region.
In twenty years, Scott has managed a portfolio of diverse issues and has built broad relationships in Kansas. He has performed contract work for both professional organizations in Kansas, such as the Kansas Restaurant & Hospitality Association and the Associated General Contractors, and some of the largest corporations in the world including Shell Oil, Wal-Mart, and Oracle. His knowledge in multiple industries including construction, healthcare, insurance, transportation, restaurant & hospitality, and energy is valuable in helping the firm’s clients further their business strategies in the regulatory environment.
Scott has been an active member of the community, having served six years in the Army National Guard and several local boards. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Kansas Business Roundtable. He has also served professional organizations including the Kansas Cable and Telecommunications Association and the Leadership Kansas programs.
