Chief Physician Executive, Hospital-Based Services
Dr. Mayrol Juarez serves as Mercy’s chief physician executive of hospital-based services, leading physician engagement, collaboration and enterprise alignment among hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, anesthesia, pathology, radiology and other hospital-based specialties. He joined Mercy in 2013 as a critical care and pulmonary medicine physician at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Missouri. Dr. Juarez has since held progressive leadership roles with Mercy, including chief medical officer and medical director of clinical excellence at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis and department chair for hospital-based providers and section chair for critical medicine at Mercy’s Springfield, Missouri communities. He is an active member of the Joint Commission’s Physician Leadership Council.
Education and Credentials
Dr. Mayrol Juarez earned his medical degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquin School of Medicine in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He completed his residency at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Jersey and a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
