About Brett D. Dunbar, DO

Care Philosophy Everyone's goals are different. So establishing good communication with my patients is really important. I'm serving the people who I've grown up with and who know my family well. So I enjoy taking care of everyone in the community. The most gratifying thing about what I do is helping patients get the care they need. Sometimes that means prescribing medicine, performing surgery or even just giving them a hug.

Dr Dunbar did a great job on my husband. The nurses at the surgery center were amazing.

When examining the patient's mouth and throat, the use of a pen light would assist Dr. Dunbar in visualization of the structures. He did not use a flashlight or pen light during my examination. Also he performed a physical examination of my abdomen while I was sitting in a chair. Using the pills very dobly is one thing, but proper physical examination of the abdomen is best performed or should be performed as far as I have been taught with the patient in supine position. I was kind of disappointed in that. It probably doesn't make a difference in the whole picture, but I think that's substandard physical examination.
