About Carol Dawnetta Curless, NP

Care Philosophy A happy accident brought me to medicine. I wanted to be a veterinarian since I read the James Herriot books as a little girl. In high school, the local family physician hired me to be his receptionist. I hadn't been there more than a couple of weeks when he had me trained to be a medical assistant and I realized how much I enjoyed it. I went to school, got my RN and just kept going. I’ve witnessed miracles. Working at mercy allows me to share those experiences. And I feel like it's through our fellowship with Christ and through His strength that healing occurs. We can help and guide, but ultimately, we're not the power behind it. I enjoy my patients. I want them to trust me and I need to trust them, so I’m very honest and frank with them. And I expect them to be with me. We decided together what they want and what they're willing to do for their health. I can't make you healthy. I can only coach you into being healthy. It's a joint effort. We choose what's best together.

        The staff went above and beyond to make my daughter feel comfortable. They all took extra time to listen and get to the bottom of the issues she was having. We were not rushed at all and were shown exemplary compassion by every staff member. Highly recommend this office.

        I feel quite comfortable with Carol after thirty some years with my old physician that recently rtetired last year. I would rather ed see her and if necessary have her refer me to a physician. Perhaps hospital policy changed or something as I need some labs done for oral surgery upcoming and to get medical clearance and get all info to the dentist requires it is necessary for me to meet with a physician first to establish myself with same info I have shared already and felt my needs were being met . I'll be doing that later this morning and seems really not necessary in terms of time and money even id it will be covered mostly by insurance. I'm hoping the doctor will be as easy to talk with and as understanding as I felt Carol has been in the two visits we've had. Thanks
