About Kayla Brooke Kittle, MD

Care Philosophy God called me to medicine and then I was very blessed because I got a lot of wonderful job shadowing experiences, which sealed the deal in terms of knowing that this was where I wanted to be. The one thing that I can always take ownership of is how well we're doing with preventative medicine with my patients. I always tell the patients that once the specialists get involved that doesn't push me out the window. I think of it as a wheel. So I'm the center of this spoke. My job is to help all the specialists communicate and the patient communicate with the specialist. If they're ever having issues or feeling like they're not heard somewhere else, again, I'm that center of the spoke, they can come to me and talk to me and then usually I can help advocate for them too.

Dr Kittle, check in and check out staff was great. I did not appreciate the lack of skill level of the MA taking my blood pressure or her arguing with me about what screenings I needed. I am a provider myself and know what screenings I need. The MA insisted and argued with me so I had to finally just say, I would like to talk with Dr. Kittle, who verified I did need the screening. Mercy is getting away from the use of nurses and instead using MA's who are not as educated or skilled. I think this is providing sub optimal care to patients and also, had I not been medically astute and willing to argue with the MA, would have not gotten my screening test. This should not be the MA's job. This should be a nurse or main providers job. The fact mercy is pulling nurses from patient care and putting them on the phones and utilizing MA's in their place is a reason I would leave the Mercy network and not recommend other people go there either. I realize nurses are more expensive than MA's but there is a valued reason for having a nurse and paying for their skills

Dr. Kittle is one of the best physicians I have ever had at Mercy! She truly listens to you as a patient.
