About Luke George Foley Smith, MD

Care Philosophy One of the earliest influences in my life was my dad. He was an orthopedic surgeon and I learned a lot about patient care from him. But when I was in high school, my mom had a brain tumor and that's what made me want to go into neurosurgery. We meet the patients and their families when they are at their worst moments. And I like interacting with patients in that stage. A lot of physicians don't. But I do because I think it's a very special time and it's the biggest way to leave a mark on somebody at their lowest point. Pediatric neurosurgery is a very special place in medicine. I love interacting with families.

Dr Smith did not answer my question what I ask him an it seem like he wuz in a hurry to be some where else just felt like he had my interest at heart . I would felt better seeing a Veterinarian. Would have got more answers out of a veterinarian. Would not want to send my friends or family member to him.

Dr Smith was very nice & was as puzzled as I was as to why I was sent to him. I explained to him what was going on, just like I did to my primary. He wanted to know why I hadn't been referred to pain management and/or orthopedic specialist, since PT did not help me.
