Mercy Travel Doc Sheds Light on Zika Virus

January 28, 2016

As of Jan. 28, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed 31 cases of citizens who've returned to the country with Zika virus. The mosquito-borne illness, while not fatal, is of serious concern for pregnant women.

Mercy's Dr. John Brown, who is certified in travel medicine, took a moment to discuss the virus. It's important to know that it's not transmitted from person to person, nor has it been contracted within the U.S. at this time.
