Congratulations to Lauren Jerichow, a registered nurse on 3AB, who was recently recognized with a DAISY Award. Jerichow has been a Mercy co-worker since 2014 and was nominated by a co-worker from another unit for providing a sacred moment for one of her patients during the holidays.
“I was visiting a patient who was sad about not having any Christmas decorations around her. I went to the nurse’s station to ask other co-workers about ideas on how to help the emotional state for this patient. Lauren immediately jumped up and got a pair of scissors. She started making the patient snowflakes to hang in her room. Not only did Lauren make the day for her patient, but she also brought joy to the team around her. The team then started helping make more snowflakes and they shared the joy of the experience together. Lauren is an incredible, compassionate, and awesome nurse.”
