Mercy Hosts "Dream Big" Virtual Camp

July 14, 2021

ST. LOUIS - With a long history of supporting disability inclusion, leaders at Mercy Hospital St. Louis jumped at the opportunity to participate in Starkloff Disability Institute’s Dream Big, a virtual career camp. Mercy joined other companies such as Boeing, Bayer, Wells Fargo and more giving college and technical school-bound youth with disabilities an opportunity to explore career options and “dream big.”

“Hosting this camp not only allows students with disabilities an opportunity to explore the vast career options available in health care, it also gives Mercy a connection to a hidden pool of talent that is often overlooked,” said Dana Brodeur, manager of Mercy’s disability inclusion services.

A variety of different areas at Mercy were highlighted including Mercy Virtual, supply chain and distribution, Mercy Technology Services, environmental services and nutrition services. Teens spent 20 minutes with each area’s leader, took virtual tours and asked questions.
