“I’m focusing on the outpatient mental health setting, which really captures patients in their day-to-day lives,” Cushing said. “I’m looking forward to helping my patients address their symptoms, improve their lives and get to feeling better.”

Cushing has cared for patients in a variety of settings for 15 years as a nurse practitioner. Prior to earning a master’s degree at Maryville University in St. Louis, she worked as a registered nurse in pediatrics, intensive care units and emergency rooms. She’s also worked in acute and outpatient mental health settings, community health clinics and addiction medicine.

Born and raised in the St. Louis area, Cushing has been married for 10 years and has two young sons. She also has a brown Labrador retriever, Moose. In her free time, her kids keep her busy with their school and sports activities, but she enjoys swimming, fishing, hunting and watching movies when she gets the chance.
