Dr. Kevin Brennan Joins Primary Care Team

October 9, 2025

Family medicine physician Dr. Kevin Brennan joins Drs. Andrew Grabowski, Stephen Staten and Donna Wagstaff and physician assistant Tabatha Sauer serving patients with Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Oakville.

Get to know Dr. Brennan in his own words with this Q&A:

Why did you get into health care?

I wanted a career that would allow me to help people in their daily lives. In addition, my father is Dr. Richard Brennan, a long-time OB/GYN here at Mercy South and St. Anthony’s. He was a huge role model for me and encouraged me throughout this process.

Did you always know you wanted to be a physician? What drew you to primary care?

I originally went into college undecided, but after a lot of contemplation realized medicine was my true calling. I was drawn to primary care because I can see patients from newborns all the way through end of life. That allows me to form lifelong relationships which I think is such an important aspect for the patient-physician relationship.

What should patients know about you?

I am extremely honored and humbled to be able to be in the position I am in as a physician.  I am a very laidback down-to-earth guy. I hope that my patients feel comfortable approaching me with any questions or concerns, and I look forward to working with them in the future for years to come.

Are there any specific conditions, procedures or treatments that most interest you?

I enjoy all aspects of primary care, but I’m particularly interested in helping people manage chronic conditions, weight management, lifestyle changes, sports medicine and women's health.

Why did you choose to join Mercy?

With Mercy being a Catholic health care system, that allows me to practice medicine in line with my Catholic faith, which is extremely important to me as a physician.

What do you like about living here?

I grew up in South County, specifically right here in the Mehlville-Oakville area. All of my friends and family were within close proximity which was my favorite part about growing up here.  I enjoy living here in St. Louis because of our great sports teams, lots of family-friendly activities and awesome food.

Do you mind sharing a little about your personal life?

I’ve been married to my wife, Maria, for 7 years. Together, we have twin 4-year-old boys, Walter and William, and an 18-month-old daughter, Ruth. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, working out, cooking, baking, hunting and fishing.
