ST. LOUIS — Newsweek named Mercy to its 2026 list of America’s Greatest Workplaces, recognizing the commitment and dedication of more than 50,000 Mercy caregivers who serve patients and families across five states.
The designation recognizes employers that create supportive environments where caregivers can grow, feel valued and find purpose in their work. It underscores Mercy’s longstanding focus on building a culture centered on compassion, dignity, service and excellence.
Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces ranking is based on one of the nation’s largest independent studies of employee workplace experience, incorporating millions of company reviews, employee interviews and workplace data points. Companies are evaluated on key measures including leadership, integrity, compensation, work-life balance and overall employee satisfaction.
Mercy’s inclusion on the 2026 list highlights the strength of its workplace culture and its commitment to supporting caregivers as they fulfill the organization’s mission of bringing hope and healing to the communities Mercy serves.
In the past year, Newsweek has recognized Mercy hospitals for excellent care across multiple categories.
In June, Newsweek again recognized Mercy for clinical excellence, naming Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City, Mercy Hospital Springfield (Mo.) and Mercy Hospital St. Louis to its list of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026, highlighting expertise in specialties ranging from cancer and cardiac care to gastrointestinal, endocrine and neurological services.
In April, six Mercy birth centers were selected for the publication’s America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2026 list, including Oklahoma City, Northwest Arkansas and, in Missouri, Jefferson, Southeast, Springfield and St. Louis — Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City earned the top ranking in Oklahoma.
In February, Mercy hospitals in Northwest Arkansas, Oklahoma City, Springfield, Missouri, and St. Louis were named among Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals.
