ST. LOUIS — Mercy hospitals are celebrating national recognition this week as U.S. News & World Report released its 2026 Best Regional Hospitals list. Five Mercy hospitals were named to this year’s list in Missouri and Arkansas.
U.S. News assembles this annual list, which highlights top-performing regional hospitals that offer full-service care across a wide range of medical specialties. According to U.S. News, “to earn this designation, a hospital must meet rigorous quality standards including earning a "High Performing" rating in at least eight procedures and medical conditions. Each year, U.S. News identifies the hospitals across the country that excel at treating patients in a wide variety of medical conditions.”
In Missouri, Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Mercy Hospital South, Mercy Hospital Springfield and Mercy Hospital Jefferson made the list, and in Arkansas, Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas was featured. That makes Mercy one of just three hospitals in Arkansas to earn this designation, and of the 11 Missouri hospitals on the list, four of them are Mercy locations.

Our presence on this year’s list of best regional hospitals is a testament to that commitment to excellent care.”
This year has been a banner year for Mercy, which has seen continued recognition for quality patient care. In July, 14 Mercy hospitals were recognized by Leapfrog with a Full Transparency Badge for their commitment to publicly reporting patient safety and quality information. Also this summer, 21 Mercy hospitals across Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma received the American Heart Association Get With the Guidelines achievement award for delivering evidence-based stroke and cardiovascular care. In April, six Mercy hospitals made Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals.
