In healthcare, the growing reliance on electronic health records, connected medical devices, virtual care platforms, cloud services and more highlights the importance placed on a chief information security officer (CISO) and chief privacy officer role. Healthcare remains one of the most targeted industries for cybercrime and federal guidance emphasizes that “cyber safety is patient safety.”
