Fort Smith Medical Library

Mercy Hospital Fort Smith Medical Library provides information services for the health care team’s informational needs as related to patient care, education, research and administration. The Medical Library is a member of the National Libraries of Medicine – South Central Region, which includes libraries in the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico.

We are located behind the Information Desk in the hospital’s main lobby.

Hospital Library Services

The Medical Library provides the following services to physicians, nurses, students, and patients/family members:

  • Interlibrary loan
  • Computer assistance in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint presentations)
  • AV equipment available for meeting use.  Assistance provided in setting up equipment
  • Literature searches
  • Photocopying  articles or portions of books (following copyright law)
  • Internet access
