Men and women who are willing to serve are all welcome as volunteers. Teens and young adults (14 and older) may serve as Varsity Volunteers on weekday afternoons or during Summer Volunteer Program.
When you agree to volunteer at Mercy Hospital South, you are given a role that best meets our current needs, and that fits with your interests and abilities. For example, some positions may require more walking or standing, while others do not. Some positions may require more interaction with patients, while others may require more technical skills.
Each new volunteer completes an application and attends a general orientation class. Volunteers have personal interviews and are given specific training in the appropriate departments. There is flexibility in the days, hours and frequency that you can contribute.
*Please note: We hold volunteer orientation sessions monthly. You will be contacted prior to the next session.
