The top three most common injuries to children admitted to Mercy's Trauma Center in Springfield, MO are falls, burns and motor vehicle accidents. Mercy's Injury Prevention Center on S. Fremont in Springfield is dedicated to reducing the number of injuries by providing education to families throughout the region. Our full-time hospital-based injury prevention coordinator, helps us lead the region in providing injury prevention education.

Safe Kids Springfield

Mercy is also the proud leader of Safe Kids Springfield. Our dedicated staff travel to area schools, public events and other venues to provide education on topics such as bicycle safety, burn and fire safety, child passenger safety, ATV safety, home safety and motor vehicle/driving safety. Drunken-driving docudramas and mock car crashes are included in the curriculum.
