Mercy Medical Library Services - Springfield

Mercy – Springfield provides two distinct libraries to service the community. Staffed by professional medical librarians, a wide variety of health information resources and library services is available from each location.

Contact a medical librarian to request research assistance, request a literature search, obtain an article, or obtain access to research databases. Computers with Internet access are available at both library locations.

The Van K. Smith Community Health Library serves patients, family members, and the communities of southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. The library is a free public service of Mercy Hospital Springfield.

Services and resources are directed toward the health consumer and general public to enable them to make informed health decisions and become active participants in their health care and total well being.  Assistance is provided for quick reference questions as well as more in-depth research needs. The library’s collection includes books, videos, models, posters, periodicals and pamphlets.

Community members are eligible to register for a free library card or use a valid Springfield-Greene County library card to check out library materials.
