Mercy Hospital Perry offers three distinct forms of therapy services for patients: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. We serve patients across the entire lifespan, from newborns to older adults.

We have a range of providers available who specialize in a variety of services, such as cognitive stimulation therapy (dementia treatment), hand therapy, pediatric therapy and physical rehab. Our case manager works with patients to help them follow their recommended care plan, overcome any barriers to progress and take advantage of resources in the community.

Physical Therapy

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy (PT) helps people regain their physical abilities, mobility and overall quality of life. Physical therapists are licensed medical professionals who use a range of techniques to help patients restore movement, increase range of motion and manage pain. Occupational Therapy

What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy (OT) is a type of physical rehabilitation. Every day, most of us brush our teeth, prepare food and work around the house with ease. However, for someone affected by a debilitating injury, disease or disability, performing these ordinary activities can become a monumental challenge.

Mercy occupational therapists help patients of all ages develop and maintain necessary life and work skills, making independence a reality. They work with patients and families to help improve quality of life and pave the road to recovery.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

What is pediatric occupational therapy?

At Mercy Hospital Perry, our occupational therapists (OTs) work closely with both doctors and families to provide personalized care for children. Together, they'll come up with a specific care plan based on each child's unique needs and abilities.

Our OTs encourage children's growth and motor skill development by using a combination of therapeutic evaluations, direct interventions and other supportive services. We strive to ensure that each individual child thrives and reaches their full potential.

Speech Therapy

What is speech therapy?

Speech therapy is a form of treatment designed for people experiencing speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication or swallowing difficulties. Speech therapists, also known as speech-language pathologists, work to diagnose and treat children and adults who suffer from a variety of conditions. Our team at Mercy Hospital Perry provides patients with a full spectrum of preventive, diagnostic, educational and treatment services.
