Bones and muscles transform throughout a woman’s lifespan, from puberty to pregnancy, menopause and beyond. Mercy has physical therapists with specialized knowledge and training in women’s health. Our therapists can help you address a wide range of physical issues, including:
Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that holds organs in place and supports bladder and bowel control. When your pelvic floor isn’t functioning as it should, it can impact your quality of life. Physical therapy can strengthen your pelvic muscles and get you back to doing the activities you enjoy.
Your body needs time to heal and recover after you deliver and during the postpartum period. While you’re caring for a new baby, you may also be experiencing pelvic pain and other symptoms. Physical therapy can bring relief and help you get back to exercise or fitness after your delivery.
