Laboratory Services

Board-certified pathologists ensure the quality and accuracy of all lab work. Mercy Lab provides a full range of inpatient testing services for both clinical and anatomic pathology, including:

  • Biopsies
  • Blood tests
  • Outpatient transfusion services
  • Specialized testing with Mayo Medical Laboratories, including access to Mayo Clinic physicians and scientists for consultation

Urinalysis

Lipid panel

A lipid panel is a blood test measures lipids – fats and fatty substances used as a source of energy by your body. Lipids include cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and low-density lipoprotein (LDL).

Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT)

An APTT test calculates how long it takes blood to clot, checks for bleeding problems, and tests, whether medicine to prevent blood clots, is working.

Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP)

A BMP is a blood test that checks your sugar (glucose) levels, electrolyte and fluid balance as well as kidney function.

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)

A CMP is a blood test that measures your sugar (glucose) level, electrolyte and fluid balance, kidney function and liver function.
