Recent studies have shown that for most patients many related health problems are resolved or significantly improved following surgical weight loss.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for bariatric surgery, you must have a:

  • Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or above, or
  • BMI of 35-40 with one or more co-morbid conditions directly related to weight

Co-morbid conditions directly related to weight include, but may not be limited to:

  • Sleep apnea
  • Hypertension
  • Arthritis/degenerative joint disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Urinary stress incontinence
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome
  • Asthma or COPD
  • Diabetes mellitus type II
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Hypercholesterolemia
  • Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis
  • Lower extremity venous stasis
  • Depression

We offer minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical approaches for:
