vAlert is a 24/7 visual and audio monitoring station of patient EKG rhythms in real time. Using centralized telemetry (EKG and pulse oximetry), our specialized Monitor Technicians keep a constant watch on patient monitors looking for any abnormalities or sudden fluctuations. Filtering through alarms, the vAlert staff is specifically trained to recognize actionable alarms and immediately notify bedside staff of any impending crisis before or as it is happening. This gives the bedside staff time to get the patient the appropriate care and help they need to overcome any cardiac-related crisis. vAlert helps to decrease the staff stress by reducing the incidence of false bedside alarms, freeing floor nurses to concentrate their time and efforts on patient care needs.
The Mercy Virtual Critical Care Service is a secure virtual care center run by a team of Mercy Virtual Physicians and Clinicians specially trained on ICU critical care capabilities and processes. In collaboration with the customer’s on-site clinical staff, the Mercy Virtual Critical Care Physicians provide oversight and intervention for adult patients located in the intensive care and some transitional care units of the customer’s hospital(s). The Mercy Virtual Critical Care Service brings the customer’s information systems, Mercy Virtual technology platform, and real-time audio and video assessment capabilities directly into the patient’s room. Mercy clinicians work in collaboration with bedside teams with a focus on core measure compliance both in the ICU and throughout the facility when appropriate. The virtual nurse is a resource to the bedside, providing critical insight into patient conditions and assisting staff to complete nursing tasks that they are unable to achieve independently.
The vSepsis program identifies adult patients that have potential sepsis, based on clinical criteria. This is achieved using data aggregation, analysis, and our proprietary algorithms to detect and counter sepsis in its earliest stages. Upon identification of these patients, the vSepsis team works with the bedside care providers to ensure that the patients receive the necessary care and achieve core measure compliance, when appropriate.
