President, Mercy Ada Communities
Terence Farrell has served as president of Mercy Ada Communities since 2019. With a lifelong desire to serve others, Farrell has worked in health care administration for nearly 30 years. Originally from Long Island, New York, Farrell spent the last 18 years working in historically underserved communities. Prior to joining Mercy, Farrell was administrator of Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois, part of Southern Illinois Health Care. Previous positions include vice president of professional and support services at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky, where he was appointed by the Governor to the Kentucky State Trauma board, and chief resource officer at Ascension St. Vincent’s Health Services in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Education and Credentials
He earned an undergraduate from Jacksonville University and a Master of Health Administration from University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. He is a longstanding fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.
