HOT SPRINGS (January 13, 2014) -- Mercy Clinic in Hot Springs welcomes Dr. Brian Telle to the Mercy Urology Clinic.

Dr. Telle has spent the past 19 years practicing Urology in Decatur, Ill. He joins the practice at 1662 Higdon Ferry Road, Suite 140.

“When I come to work every day I try to do the best job that I can for all the patients I see,” Telle said. “I think that is a reflection of how I was raised. If someone comes to me and wants something taken care of I owe it to them to do the best job that I can.”

As an Urologist, Dr. Telle provides diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the urinary tract in men and women, and diseases of the male reproductive system. This can include tumors, congenital diseases, trauma, inflammatory problems, treatment for fertility/infertility and impotence.

Dr. Telle started out wanting to be a Pharmacist and attended Purdue University to study. But while there, he spent one summer with two physicians – six weeks with an Urologist and six weeks with a General Surgeon.

“I fairly quickly discovered that urology was more suited for me. I elected to pursue that and when I got into medical school that was the direction I headed,” Dr. Telle said. “In Urology you can treat a fair number of problems with medications instead of surgery. I found that attractive.”

He attended Indiana University for medical school before doing his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. After living in the Midwest the majority of his life he wanted to come south, looking for a bit warmer climate, and Hot Springs suited what he was looking for.

“I love the lake. My wife and I have a boat and brought that down. That was the first thing that caught our attention,” Dr. Telle said. “It’s beautiful country here and we quickly discovered that was a big attraction.”
