O'Grady Joins Mercy Clinic

October 24, 2014

Dr. Stephen O’Grady, a board-certified pediatrician, has joined Mercy Clinic Pediatrics, where he delivers family-focused medical care and education to pediatric patients and their families.

“I look at my relationship with patients and their families as a partnership,” said O’Grady. “My role in that partnership is to educate and empower families and children to make decisions that positively impact their health.”

O’Grady first entered health care as a pharmacist. After spending time in the hospital and being around physicians, he decided to go back to school to become a physician so he could be more involved in direct patient care.

“I entered the medical field to pursue a career emphasizing community service,” said O’Grady. “Being a pediatrician affords me the opportunity to practice preventative medicine and impact the health of children by establishing good, healthy habits that they will hopefully carry with them into adulthood.”

O’Grady received his bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

O’Grady joins Mercy Clinic after spending the last year and a half as a staff pediatrician at a pediatric outpatient urgent care and emergency room in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to that, he was employed by the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center for nearly six years.  He also spent 11 years in private practice in Amarillo.

“I appreciate the opportunity to join the community of great pediatricians already practicing in Ada,” said O’Grady. “I feel honored to be able to serve the community and provide quality care to children and young adults.”

O’Grady and his family have lived in and been involved in the Ada community for eight years. Outside of working hours, O’Grady enjoys spending time with his family, attending church, and volunteering in the community and at Byng Public Schools.

O’Grady practices in a new Mercy Clinic location, Mercy Clinic Pediatrics, located at 530 N. Monte Vista, Suite B, in Ada. To make an appointment with O’Grady, please call (580) 453-3230.
