When to Schedule Baby’s First Checkups and Immunizations

WASHINGTON, Mo. New parents confused or wondering about what checkups their baby needs during his or her first six months can pose their questions to Anjani Urban, MD, Mercy Clinic Family Medicine. Dr. Urban will be the guest at the next Mercy Moms Connect meeting on Wednesday, November 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The group meets in the St. Francis conference room on the second floor of Mercy Hospital Washington.

Dr. Urban will review what to expect at baby’s 1-, 2-, 4- and 6-month checkups, as well as facts and misperceptions about vaccinations and common illnesses to be aware of during the winter months.

Mercy Moms Connect is an informal gathering of new parents and their children led by a maternal child educator. Sessions are free and feature guest speakers and topics relevant to parenting. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, call 636-239-8645.
