As this year's flu season moves into allergy season, many people have to miss work because of illness. Mercy's Employer Health Solutions offers local businesses a way to keep their employees healthy and miss fewer days.
The program provides different and unique partnerships from on-site clinics to direct contracts. Mercy's model is to keep people out of the hospital and use their primary care physician to catch conditions early and help better manage current diagnosis.
Mercy providers work closely together across specialties to decrease unnecessary utilization and cut out waste while providing patients the best clinical diagnosis.
One example of the care provided by Mercy's Employer Health Solutions is the on-site clinic for employees at World Wide Technology. In 2018, there were more than 10,000 visits to the clinic - which is open to employees and their families - and nearly 37 percent of eligible members used the services.
The on-site clinic functions as a primary care and urgent care hybrid allowing employees to visit the clinic with scheduled appointments or stopping in if they have a more urgent need.
