Mercy is Helping "Stuff the Bus"

Summer is ending and kids in the area are gearing up to head back to school. Unfortunately, the added expenses during this time can be a stressor for many families. In effort to relieve some of this stress, Mercy is helping James River Church “Stuff the Bus!” Mercy Hospital Springfield, along with other local businesses, will be collecting backpacks and school supplies for children in need.

In 2018, Mercy Hospital Springfield collected 275 backpacks filled with school supplies for school-age kids in need. In 2018, Mercy Hospital Springfield collected 275 backpacks filled with school supplies for school-age kids in need.

To donate, purchase a backpack for an elementary age student and fill it with the school supplies listed below. Supplies may be dropped off outside the Mercy Hospital Café, just inside the main south entrance, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 1.

  • Mead Composition Book
  • 1" Binder
  • Crayola Crayons (24 ct)
  • Crayola Colored Markers (10 ct)
  • Scissors
