Word is out. Money has recognized Mercy Hospital Springfield as one of the best hospitals in America.
The list features 115 hospitals nationwide that received top scores for patient care, low rates of death, readmission and unnecessary procedures while also providing transparent pricing and quality patient experiences. Mercy Hospital Springfield ranked 107th on the list and received an overall grade of B, with a B+ for price transparency.
According to Money, the “search for the nation’s best hospitals began with a cohort of quality hospitals that received a four- or five-star rating from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Among the 6,000 medical institutions nationwide, fewer than 1,300 hospitals made these grades.”
To compile its new list of Best Hospitals in America, Money crunched 13,500 data points to create a list of the top 115 hospitals. Money’s editorial team used data from health care transparency firm Denniston Data to articulate the final numbers.
“We’re very honored to be on this list,” said BJ Roberts, chief financial officer at Mercy Springfield Communities. “Patient care is always our No. 1 focus, and after earning back-to-back Leapfrog A safety ratings, we know our track record for providing the best patient outcomes is strong. But making this list also demonstrates our focus on providing transparent pricing and supporting our patients when they have questions about a bill or if they need financial assistance to help with a bill.”
