Jeffrey Cleveland Named New Administrator of Mercy Hospital Tishomingo

TISHOMINGO, Okla. – Tishomingo-born Jeffrey Cleveland, an occupational therapist and administrator with more than 35 years of health care experience, will lead Mercy Hospital Tishomingo beginning June 30.

leveland, who has extensive experience in Oklahoma and in rural health care, succeeds the recently retired Lori McMillin as hospital administrator. Cleveland will oversee a clinical team of more than 60 Mercy caregivers working in Tishomingo.

“This is a humbling honor to have the opportunity to lead the team of talented professionals in Tishomingo,” said Cleveland. “Critical access hospitals are the beating heart of their community, and it’s so exciting to be able to provide top-quality medical care to our neighbors.”

Mercy Hospital Tishomingo is a 25-bed facility with acute care and swing bed (skilled care) services, along with inpatient and outpatient therapy, infusion services, emergency care and other treatments.

It was recently recognized as one of the country’s top 20 critical access hospitals for quality, and for being in the top 25% of rural American hospitals.

About Cleveland

Cleveland started his journey as a clinician at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock nearly 36 years ago. He has managed departments and clinics for rehabilitation services, therapy, vaccines, primary care, cardiology and pulmonology, in addition to operational roles.

He’s been an occupational therapist for Mercy in Oklahoma City since 2024, with previous stops including OU Health, SSM Health, Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Valir Health and Cohesive Healthcare.

“We were fortunate to have a number of highly qualified and motivated candidates, and Jeff quickly rose to the top of the list because of the depth and breadth of his experience,” said Daryle Voss, president of Mercy Southern Oklahoma Communities. “When you combine that with his leadership skills, I think he’s the perfect candidate to lead our team in Tishomingo. We’re excited to have him aboard and we know the community will welcome him with open arms.”

Cleveland’s career has taken him from Arkansas to Louisiana and eventually Oklahoma, where most of his work has been in Shawnee and Oklahoma City.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe), and a master’s in human resources from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.

Born in Tishomingo and raised in Louisiana, Cleveland can be found playing a round at any local golf course or trout fishing in the Blue River. His wife Allyson is a dedicated educator. Cleveland has three grown children and four grandchildren, each of whom look forward to visiting Tishomingo.
