Mercy Stoddard Patients Better Connected With New Electronic Health Record System

August 15, 2025

Mercy Stoddard patients now have a single, comprehensive electronic health record to improve the coordination of their care. Mercy caregivers have access to the new Epic system, which gives patients round-the-clock access to online scheduling, virtual care options and their health records through the MyMercy patient portal and app.

On July 27, Mercy Hospital Stoddard, its clinics and all Mercy services and locations in Dexter and surrounding communities transitioned to Epic, software designed to deliver high-quality, personalized results for both patients and caregivers. This state-of-the-art system provides one patient health record available to all Mercy health care providers at all Mercy locations.

The changeover fully integrates Mercy Stoddard with the rest of the Mercy health system across Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

“This is an important investment for all the communities Mercy Stoddard serves,” said Sue Ann Williams, Mercy Hospital Stoddard administrator. “With Epic, our patients are now part of one of the most comprehensive electronic health data programs in the country. It enables our providers and caregivers to create a more detailed health profile, allowing for personalized care and accessibility to specialty providers across Mercy.”

Epic is just a portion of Mercy’s $45 million, multi-year IT investment in Southeast Missouri to add new technology and tools to assist Mercy’s health care team in combining the newest medical technology with exceptional care. Those advancements include convenient access to health care when patients need it, numerous virtual care options, AI solutions to streamline caregiver processes and digital platforms.

“Transitioning electronic health record systems is extremely complex, and we are thankful for the support team from across Mercy working alongside us for a smooth transition as we bring this vital resource to our patients and caregivers,” Williams said. “I am incredibly proud of our caring and dedicated team at Mercy Stoddard who are helping us fulfill our promise of bringing high quality care at a lower cost to our rural Southeast Missouri communities.”

All Mercy Stoddard services and locations can now be found in one online location: mercy.net, a user-friendly online experience for finding services, doctors, locations and online scheduling throughout the Mercy health system.

Patients will also find advantages of MyMercy including a free, easy-to-use app that allows anyone – not just Mercy patients – to manage their health online via phone or tablet. Benefits include:

  • Online scheduling for in-person appointments or video visits
  • Requesting prescription refills
  • Messaging care teams
  • Viewing health summaries
  • Tracking and reviewing test results
  • Reviewing and paying bills
  • Linking health accounts from other health systems

MyMercy is available for free download from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
