Congratulations to Aswanth Reddy, MD, of Mercy Fort Smith, who was recently named the 2025 Researcher of the Year. As an oncologist, Dr. Reddy strives to make a positive difference in his patients' lives. He fully engages in research and teaching his patients, students and co-workers about the world with cancer, consistently demonstrating a dedication to advancing knowledge while inspiring and mentoring others.
Dr. Reddy's notable commitment to advancing knowledge is evident through his ongoing leadership and the way he consistently champions research initiatives at Mercy.
- He serves as Mercy’s Principal Investigator for multiple oncology Supersite® studies this year, each involving no fewer than five sites.
- He is the top enrolling PI for Cancer Research for the Ozarks (CRO), where he's helped earn Mercy the Platinum Certificate of Excellence, the NCI’s highest award for Exceptional Achievement in Patient Enrollments in NCI Cancer Control, Prevention, Screening, and Treatment Trials.
- Dr. Reddy serves as Mercy’s highest enrolling site in CRO's NCORP program and has received two Gold Certificates of Excellence for outstanding enrollments in both NCI Treatment and Cancer Control Trials and Cancer Care Delivery Research Trials.
Dr. Reddy's ongoing clinical research helps patients and fosters collaboration across the ministry. He's very involved with our active research studies and interacts with the research team on a regular basis. He works closely with the residents in research topics and is always working on his own investigative trials, encouraging participation and offering support to others.
