The daughter of a longtime Perryville primary care physician has returned home to practice in the same community, and the same office, as her father.

Dr. Faith Grove began seeing patients on Aug. 24, almost exactly 36 years after her father, Dr. David Kapp, started his tenure as a Mercy Perry physician on Aug. 13, 1990. Dr. Grove joins a talented team at Mercy Primary Care - 212 Hospital Lane Suite 101B providing comprehensive care for the whole family, including:

Preventive care and health screenings
Diagnosis and care for common illnesses and minor injuries
Management of chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure
Medication management
Vaccinations and immunizations
Other common illnesses and injuries

“Working in a small town allows me to build relationships with patients and their families from newborn to end-of-life care,” Dr. Grove said. “This isn’t always an option in larger cities. I love serving the community in any way I can — women's health, pediatrics, nursing home and everything in between. I’m excited to find a location that allows me to practice at my full potential.”

Born and raised in Perryville, Dr. Grove said it wasn’t until her residency training that she began seriously considering returning to her hometown to practice.

“It’s not every day you get to learn from an experienced physician who has been practicing for over 30 years,” Dr. Grove said. “There is something really special about getting to work with my dad, whose selflessness and sacrifice to his patients inspired me to go into the field in the first place. He is always such a good reminder to remember why we do this job. He goes above and beyond to help his patients no matter how long the day is or the extra work it may take. That is what I strive to do for my patients as well, and I’m thankful for that reminder through my dad every day.”

Dr. Grove earned a bachelor’s degree and her medical degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine. She then completed a three-year residency in family medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford.

Dr. Grove is married and lives in Perryville with the couple’s two dogs and one cat. They love being outdoors and staying active. She also enjoys reading sci-fi and thriller books. She and her husband hope to do some traveling soon and are open to recommendations.

“It’s an honor to come back and serve Perry County,” Dr. Grove said. “There is something special about getting to serve a community that helped raise you into the person you are. Perryville has a really great sense of community and support, and I want to be able to have that as I serve patients here.”
