Mercy’s COO Named a Rising Star in Healthcare

September 30, 2026

September brought two celebrations for Taylor Warwick, chief operating officer of Mercy Springfield Communities. This month marked her second anniversary with Mercy, and she learned she has been named to Becker’s list of rising star healthcare leaders under 40.

Mercy doctor's coat Taylor Warwick made Beckers’ 2026 list of healthcare leaders under 40.

Becker’s 2026 list of rising stars represents “dynamic, creative and forward-thinking minds working across the healthcare industry today,” the news outlet said in its release. “They’re bringing fresh perspectives to stubborn problems, challenging conventions that no longer serve patients and driving change with urgency.”

The chance to solve complex or stubborn problems is part of what attracted Warwick to healthcare leadership early in her career. “I get to work with incredibly high-performing teams,” Warwick said. “Healthcare presents a wide range of complex issues we have to solve almost daily. Being part of that work is rewarding, especially knowing I’m contributing to something bigger than any one individual. The work we do ensures our hospitals, clinics and caregivers have what they need to deliver exceptional care to our community.”

In her role as COO, Warwick helps manage and lead Mercy Springfield Communities, which includes over 200 clinics, multiple hospital locations and more than 9,000 caregivers. Since joining Mercy in September 2024, Warwick has helped grow Mercy Hospital Springfield’s surgical volume by more than 10% and its imaging volume by more than 20%. Her insight and leadership have also been instrumental in the implementation of several operational projects that have impacted both patient care and access to care.

“One of Taylor’s strengths is her ability to carefully think through how an operational change will impact our patients and caregivers,” said John Myers, president of Mercy Springfield Communities. “Having her insight and voice at the table has helped us expand access to care across southwest Missouri and respond to issues more quickly. I’m not surprised Becker’s has named her a rising star. She’s truly a leader in this industry, and we are lucky to have her on the Mercy team.”
