Pastoral Care Volunteer Opportunities

Mercy’s pastoral services in St. Louis offer various volunteer ministry opportunities to individuals who are active with local denominations or faith groups. If you wish to join the pastoral services team in a volunteer capacity, get started by filling out our volunteer interest form.

Pastoral Care Volunteer Process

When accepted, you will attend the general orientation session that the hospital requires of all volunteers. You will then be scheduled to interview in the pastoral services department. If we have a pastoral volunteer position that is a good fit for you, we will orient you to pastoral services and, depending on your previous experience and your volunteer role, provide you specialized training regarding the various aspects of supporting our patients. You will also receive ongoing supervision and various opportunities for continuing education and growth in the caring ministries.
