Bringing a newborn into the world is an incredible experience that you will remember always. Together, you and your Mercy care provider will determine the safest way for you to deliver your baby, taking into consideration your preferences, your health, and any previous childbirth experiences.
When the time comes to deliver, your Mercy team will be at your side to support you throughout your baby’s birth. We provide expert, compassionate care for every type of delivery: vaginal birth, Cesarean section or vaginal birth after Cesarean (VBAC).
Most deliveries go smoothly, but if you have a high-risk pregnancy or unexpected complication, know that we’ll coordinate any specialty care you need.
Unfortunately, pain is a natural part of childbirth. If you have a vaginal birth, you may choose to have epidural anesthesia to help manage pain. An epidural is completely optional; you may prefer to have a natural childbirth delivery, with no medication. Talk to your doctor or midwife about your options and preferences before your delivery, and include them in your birth plan.
No matter how you deliver your child, trust Mercy to provide expert, supportive care and get you both off to a healthy start.
