In almost 30 years of delivering babies, Mercy’s Dr. May-Li Barki has never had a patient who had two sets of twins. But this year, in 2011, Ronda and Jason Boston had identical twins: Amelia and Olivia. In 2004, the Oklahoma couple had fraternal twins, followed by their only son five years later — all natural births. According to Dr. Barki, there’s only a 3 percent chance of having twins and the odds of having a second set is something like nine in 10,000.
Dr. Barki has delivered all five of the Boston’s children at Mercy and Amelia May-Li was named after Dr. Barki.
