WASHINGTON, Mo. – To improve efficiencies and consolidate services, changes are coming to Mercy Urgent Care and Convenient Care centers in Eureka and Washington.
“Our goal is to ensure that patients are getting the right level of care and services for their injuries and illnesses,” said Dr. Jennifer Scheer, medical director for Mercy East Communities Convenient and Urgent Care centers. “Doing this saves patients time and money with shorter waits and lower co-pays than an emergency room visit.”
Mercy Hospital is closing its Urgent Care at 3195 Phoenix Center Drive in Washington on March 1 at 8 p.m. Mercy Corporate Health at the same location will remain open. Mercy Convenient Care at 20 Legends Parkway in Eureka will be closed March 2 at 3 p.m. and all day March 3. It will reopen March 4 as a hospital-based Urgent Care with expanded hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Mercy will then have three walk-in clinics in the area for patients to receive care for their acute medical conditions:
“All of our Convenient and Urgent Care centers offer flexible hours and walk-in convenience,” said Dr. Scheer. “Because they’re part of Mercy, they’re part of a care team with access to services and a shared electronic health record. Patients benefit because they receive coordinated care from highly-trained and dedicated health providers who share important knowledge about their health.”
