Lunch And Learn Programs Return For Fall

at the Lunch and Learn on Sept. 4. 

CRYSTAL CITY, Mo. -- The popular community Lunch and Learn series returns to Mercy Hospital Jefferson for the fall. The first presentation will feature Mercy administrators talking about the future of health care in our community.


 


The program will include a brief history on the Religious Sisters of Mercy and how the ministry has evolved over the years. Details will be provided on commitments Mercy has made for the hospital and the community, and strategies for improving access to health care and the latest technologies.


 


Seating is limited and on-line reservations are required by Friday, Aug. 30, for the 11 a.m. program on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Lunch and Learn programs are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in September, October and November.


 


On October 2, neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine specialist Tariq J. Alam, MD, will share information about strokes, including how to recognize the signs and symptoms, what to do if a stroke is suspected, and ways to help prevent a stroke.


 


On November 6, Mercy urologist Philip Newhall, MD, will present his program, "Diagnosing and Treating Female Incontinence Issues." Dr. Newhall is board certified in urology and has experience in many diverse areas of urological medicine.
