ST. LOUIS - Mercy Saint Louis recently hosted an EMS Skills Day that attracted EMTs and paramedics from across the metro area. The goal was to review critical life-saving skills that are not frequently performed.
Mercy Emergency Department physicians helped to lead each station with time for hands-on practice. Feedback from those in attendance was very positive with many requesting another day soon to repeat the education. Others asked that Mercy make the skills day part of their annual EMS education and expand the day with more skills.
Dr. John Wilmas, EMS medical director commented, “Mercy is committed to the highest level of EMS education and having emergency physicians willing to share their knowledge and expertise is a great opportunity.”
The event was free and open to EMS in the area.
