Runners, joggers, walkers and families are all invited to Mercy Fitness Center – Lebanon’s 13th annual Mercy Me Run. This year’s event, set for April 30, will feature 5K and 10K races, as well as a new course.
Early registration has begun for all races and the sooner you sign up, the more you’ll save. The cost to register on or before Monday, Feb. 29, is $15 for adults and $10 for anyone 17 and under, and also includes a t-shirt. After that, registration will cost $20 for adults and $15 for children. Prices then go up $5 the week of the event. Swag bags are available for registrants who sign up prior to March 31 – or while supplies last.
Both races kick off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, in Mercy Hospital Lebanon’s south parking lot near Mercy Urgent Care and Mercy Family Pharmacy Lebanon, following the singing of the national anthem. Proceeds from the run will help the Curry Cancer Center Patient Transportation Fund purchase a new vehicle.
“A ride to and from the doctor should be the last thing a cancer patient needs to worry about,” said Mercy Fitness Center supervisor Taylor Knight, who is organizing the Mercy Me Run. “We hope many people in the community turn out on April 30th to support this simple, yet vital fund.”
In 2015, participants raised more than $2,400 to help complete the Mercy Fitness Park, located just west of the hospital campus. Sponsors this year include Seegar Toyota of St Robert, Commerce Bank, Emerson Climate Technologies, City of Lebanon, and Lebanon Parks Department.
An awards ceremony will be held immediately following this year’s event. The top male and female from each race will receive a trophy; the top three in each age division in both races will receive medals. Parking will be available at the hospital south lot near urgent care and the pharmacy.
Online registration for the Mercy Me Run is available through 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 29. Packet pickup is available Friday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Mercy Fitness Center. Day-of registration will run from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at the medical building entrance. To sign up or get more information, click here or call Taylor Knight at (417) 533-6680.
