Samantha Cole Named Vice President of Patient Care Services

Samantha Cole, a Mercy caregiver for 24 years, has been named vice president of patient care services at Mercy Hospital Fort Smith.

Cole has been a dedicated member of the Mercy team since 2000, consistently demonstrating her commitment to patient care and leadership excellence. For the past six years, she has been successfully leading the Maternal Child Service Line as director as well as Mercy's ministry Maternal Child Services Cost Transformation Team, where she continues to foster a culture of excellence in care for mothers and children.

She began her career with Mercy in 2000 as a staff nurse, providing exceptional care in the medical-surgical, step-down and medical intensive care units. In 2003, she transitioned into the role of quality improvement manager, where she drove significant initiatives to enhance our standards of care.

In 2008, Samantha earned her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, which allowed her to lead numerous performance improvement projects across the organization. Her dedication to operational efficiency and patient outcomes has been a hallmark of her career.

In 2013, Samantha joined the Community Health and Access team as director, further expanding her leadership skills and impact. 

“I look forward to both the challenges and opportunities this new role will bring," Cole said. "Each of my previous positions at Mercy has helped me better understand the needs of not only our patients and their families, but our caregivers as well. I will continue working with my Mercy colleagues in this new role in order to help provide the best possible care for our community."

Outside of her professional achievements, Cole is a devoted mother of two boys and enjoys fitness, outdoor activities and giving back to the Fort Smith community through volunteerism. She also serves on multiple community boards, demonstrating her commitment to improving the well-being of those around her.
