Mercy Foundation Adds New Board Members

ROGERS, Ark. – Mercy Health Foundation Northwest Arkansas is welcoming three new members to its 24-member board of directors.  

New Mercy Health Foundation board members Mercy Health Foundation Northwest Arkansas has added three new board members – Melanie Belford, Tina Gabbard and Steve Galen.

Joining the board are Melanie Belford, Walmart, Inc., vice president, finance transformation and digital acceleration; Tina Gabbard, Cox Communications Arkansas market vice president; and Steve Galen, community leader.  

Board members serve as ambassadors for Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas and guide Mercy Health Foundation Northwest Arkansas in its pursuit of collaborative partnerships to enhance the quality of life in Northwest Arkansas and strive toward making health care accessible for all. 

The Foundation also named board officers:

Chair – Mike Curtis, Anheuser-Busch vice president, Walmart and Sam’s Club

Vice Chair – Stefan Sterns, NewRoad Capital Partners partner

Treasurer – Pat Curran, Walmart, Inc., former chief operating officer

Secretary – Melanie Belford, Walmart, Inc., vice president, finance transformation and digital acceleration  

Curtis will build on the work of outgoing board chair Nathan Smith, chief operating officer of Transportation Equipment Network. 

Additional board members include:

Corey Bender, Walmart, Inc., senior vice president, general merchandise manager, hardlines

Dr. Sonal Bhakta, Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas vice president, medical affairs 

Shana DeSmit, Sam’s Club vice president, divisional merchandise manager, meat and seafood

Charan Dhaliwal, IPH Holdings managing member

Ryan Faust, Buf Studio partner and managing principal  

Eric Fritts, Tyson Foods former vice president of sales  

Laurice Hachem-Roberts, Hachem Investments president

Ryan Harrington, General Mills vice president of sales, Walmart and Sam’s Club

Bert Kell, Arvest Bank trust officer and senior vice president

Moneka Krouse, PepsiCo vice president, category insights and strategy

Jennifer Necessary, community leader

Kasie Yokley, 3W Magazine co-founder

Dick Trammel, board member emeritus, retired, Arvest Bank  

Ex-officio members of the board are Christy Blackshear, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary volunteer; Clark Ellison, Mercy Health Foundation vice president; Ryan Gehrig, Mercy Arkansas Communities president; Michele Villines, Mercy Northwest Arkansas strategic initiatives manager; and Greta Wilcher, Mercy Arkansas Communities vice president, finance.
