South St. Louis County Native Joins Primary Care Team

October 22, 2025

Join us in welcoming Oakville native, true crime lover and family medicine physician Dr. Becky Jadwisiak to our team! Dr. Jadwisiak joins Drs. Mirha Avdagic and Mary Beth Chitwood and nurse practitioners Heather Haegele and Christina Helderle serving patients with Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Richardson Square in Arnold.

Get to know Dr. Jadwisiak in her own words with this Q&A:

Why did you get into health care?

I’ve always known I wanted to be a physician. I was first introduced to medicine by my mom who is a nurse and always encouraged me to pursue medicine as well.

What drew you to primary care?

I was drawn to primary care for the continuity of care you get to have with patients and the relationships you get to build. As a family medicine physician, I see newborns to geriatric patients and everything in between. I am also very passionate about preventative medicine and providing education to my patients to help them live healthy lives.

Are there any specific conditions, procedures or treatments that most interest you?

In true family medicine fashion, I enjoy treating all ages and conditions. I am most passionate about women’s health, geriatrics (aging) and obesity medicine.

Why did you choose to join Mercy?

I began my career with Mercy in medical school through rotations at Mercy South and then completed my family medicine residency at Mercy St. Louis. I have had such great experiences with Mercy and everyone I have worked with here, so I was overjoyed to stay with Mercy after completing my residency.

What do you like about living here?

I grew up in Oakville and attended Notre Dame High School. Most of my family and friends still live in St. Louis, which is a major reason I chose to stay in the area. I love St. Louis and enjoy all the parks and nature areas we have available. I also enjoy the food scene and trying new restaurants and patios.

Do you mind sharing a little about your personal life?

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends. I do not have any pets, but my parents have a Great Dane puppy that I love to visit and take for walks. I also enjoy hiking, baking and reading. I almost always have a true crime podcast playing.
