Children’s Mercy is proud to announce the addition of Troy Spilde, MD, to its Springfield team as a Pediatric General Surgeon. This strategic expansion reflects the continued commitment to delivering exceptional pediatric care to families in southwest Missouri.
Dr. Spilde brings more than 20 years of experience in pediatric general surgery and marks a return to Children’s Mercy where he completed his fellowship training after graduating from University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completing his residency at UMKC/Truman Medical Center. His fellowship training included a Pediatric Surgery Research Fellowship year, Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and Pediatric Surgery Fellowship.
His career also includes previous leadership roles at Mercy Springfield and St. John’s Children’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill. In addition to these roles, he has also served as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Missouri, reflecting a deep commitment to advancing care and collaboration.
Dr. Spilde focuses on delivering the highest standard of care for our patients and will work closely with Children’s Mercy and Mercy Springfield department of surgery teams whose leadership and dedication have been instrumental in building a strong foundation for pediatric care in Springfield
