“Lauren is a strong addition to our executive team,” said Marie Moore, president of Mercy Washington and Lincoln Communities. “She brings the right mix of experience, vision and commitment to help us continue building strength across our hospital and our communities. This appointment reflects both her leadership and the exceptional talent available locally.”

Throughout her career, Lawson has helped advance initiatives that directly benefit patients, including capital expansions, new clinical programs and thoughtful evaluation of advanced medical technologies. Her work alongside clinical, operational and executive teams spans a range of care settings, including small acute care and critical access hospitals.  This experience has given her a strong understanding of rural and community health needs and reinforces her commitment to stewarding resources  that best support patients and families close to home.

“I have a personal appreciation for the close-to-home services Mercy provides.  The Washington emergency,  catheterization lab, and ICU teams saved the life of my father two years ago,” Lawson said. “That experience reinforced the critical importance of timely, high-quality care and the profound impact it has in our local rural communities.”

In addition to a natural aptitude for numbers , her early exposure to healthcare through her mother’s chiropractic practice provided firsthand insight into patient care, operations and practice management. This foundation continues to inform her perspective, grounding strategic decision-making in the realities of healthcare delivery.

“That exposure gave me a strong appreciation for the patient experience and for the role healthcare plays in improving people’s quality of life” Lawson said. “I came to understand that behind every financial decision in healthcare is a person and their loved ones. By combining my skill set in accounting and finance with my passion for helping others receive the care they need, healthcare finance became the clear path for me.”
